Connect Cinch to Discord

Get a message in a Discord channel the moment somebody finishes your funnel, with their name, their score and their first few answers. It takes about two minutes. Discord makes this easier than most.

1. Make a webhook in Discord

A webhook is a web address that turns anything sent to it into a message in one channel. There is no app to create and nothing to approve:

1. Hover over the channel you want the leads in and press the cog, or right-click it and choose Edit Channel.
2. Open Integrations, then Webhooks, then New Webhook.
3. Give it a name — whatever you call it is the name the messages arrive under. Press Copy Webhook URL.

You need Manage Webhooks on the server to see that menu. If you cannot find it, you are probably not an admin of the server.

2. Paste it into your funnel

Open your funnel in Cinch and scroll to Where leads go. Press Discord, paste the address in, and click away from the box. It saves on its own.

3. Answer your own funnel

Publish it if you have not already, then run through it yourself. The message should appear a second or two after you finish.

Nothing in a message can tag anyone. If somebody types @everyone into a name box, it arrives as plain text rather than pinging your whole server.

Pick the right channel

These messages carry people’s names, emails and answers. A private channel that only you and whoever handles enquiries can read is the sensible home for them. Anyone who can see the channel can see the leads.

If nothing arrives

• Check the webhook still exists. Deleting it in Discord does not tell Cinch. You will see 404 against the response.
• Only finished responses are sent. Somebody who gives up halfway is recorded but not posted.
• Look at the response in Cinch. Each one shows whether the message was sent, is being retried, or failed, and what Discord said.

Somewhere else instead

Slack works the same way. For anything else, the Zapier route reaches a few thousand other apps.
